Trey Gowdy Is Coming Back, But In A New Role

A lot of Republicans who are fans of former Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) were concerned when he retired to go back into private law practice at the beginning of the month.

They thought they were now going to be without the former federal prosecutor’s incisive way of questioning people and getting to the heart of the matter.

Gowdy became well known in his position as chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee in the last two years he was in office.

But turns out you may not have to be without your Gowdy fix after all.

Although Gowdy will be working for the law firm Nelson Mullins, he’s also just signed to help provide political and legal analysis to Fox News and Fox Business.

He was known for something else besides his sharp questioning.

And The Daily Show managed to capture it in a humorous way.

Gowdy responded:

A lot of folks were pleased.

Gowdy is just one of the former congress members who has joined on with a media outlet.

Former Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) has signed with CBS, former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MI) MSNBC, and former Reps. Carlos Curbelo (R-Fla.) and Mia Love (R-UT) both joined CNN.
