Ocasio-Cortez Claim About U.S. Healthcare Is BAD, Even By Her Standards

The decision from a Texas federal judge that Obamacare is unconstitutional is prompting some on the left to drop the mask completely and come out fully for single payer healthcare of ‘Medicare for all.’

And chief among those leading that charge is the Congresswoman-elect from New York, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

But as usual, there’s a lack of facts in her argument.

She was encouraging them to sign up for Obamacare before the deadline was up. She admitted it was “expensive” but an incentive to work for ‘Medicare for all.’

But then she went over the slide.

“It’s important to be honest about the fact that US healthcare is terrible and lags far behind the modern world.

The good news: #MedicareForAll can save the US $5.1 trillion over a decade while drastically cutting working-class Americans’ health spending.”

Wait, what?

First of all, U.S. healthcare is among the best in the world. She likely is doing that Democratic thing where they confuse health insurance with healthcare.

Then to claim that Medicare for all would save $5.1 trillion over a decade is unhinged from reality. And to support that she cites a Marxist anti-capitalist publication, Jacobin magazine. That says a lot about her right there.

Americans took Ocasio-Cortez to school.
