It’s What Trump Didn’t Say: People Just Realized What Was Missing from SOTU Address For 1st Time In Nearly a Decade

After eight years of the same State of the Union topic heard over and over again during Obama’s speeches, President Donald Trump left out the one topic Obama never ceased to flog: Global warming.

Year in and year out, Barack Obama lamented that the world was being destroyed by global warming and year after year he demanded that Congress waste billion of our tax dollars to “fix” it. But with Donald Trump’s final word during his first State of the Union speech, it dawned on the nation that he didn’t mention global warming even one time.

Indeed, instead of hand wringing over Obama’s globaloney, Trump touted America’s bid for energy independence and insisted that the U.S. should ramp up energy production — especially coal.

“We have ended the war on American Energy – and we have ended the War on clean coal,” Trump said during his SOTU address. “We are now an exporter of energy to the world.”

Another thing Trump noted was his success in eliminating destructive regulations that held the energy industry in check. This is something that Obama spent eight years paying lip service to but in fact doing nothing to affect. No president created more oppressive regulations than Obama despite his constant pledged that he would cut regulations.

“In our drive to make Washington accountable, we have eliminated more regulations in our first year than any administration in history,” Trump said last night.

But, there was nothing about climate change. This was quite unlike Obama, BizPacReview noted.

While Obama’s 2011 SOTU address did not explicitly say climate change, he did call for investments in “clean energy technology” to “protect the planet.” Obama’s six other SOTUs used the term “climate change.”

While not technically a SOTU, Obama said in 2009, “to truly transform our economy, to protect our security, and save our planet from the ravages of climate change, we need to ultimately make clean, renewable energy the profitable kind of energy.”

Obama mentioned climate change three times in his 2010 SOTU address, saying “[e]ven if you doubt the evidence [on climate change], providing incentives for energy efficiency and clean energy are the right thing to do for our future.”

Obama’s 2015 SOTU mentioned climate change four times, saying “no challenge — poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change.”

In his final SOTU, Obama again mentioned climate change four times. “If anybody still wants to dispute the science around climate change, have at it,” the president said.

“You will be pretty lonely, because you’ll be debating our military, most of America’s business leaders, the majority of the American people, almost the entire scientific community, and 200 nations around the world who agree it’s a problem and intend to solve it,” Obama said in 2016.

But last night, Trump’s SOTU speech was thankfully free of blather about the climate change hoax.

Obama used global warming as a giant excuse to bleed money out of the treasury to pay off his pals in the useless “green energy” industry and his buddies in Europe. But true to his America first policy, Trump ignored the hoax that is global warming and only pushed for policies that will make America great again.

Quite refreshing, wasn’t it?
